There are a number of advantages to selling your bloodstock through a consignor and some of the main points are outlined below:
The Directors of Castlebridge will inspect potential sale horses many months in advance of the sales and offer advice on sale preparation and sale selection (both sale company and selling day).
The office team at Castlebridge will make sale entries on your behalf and provide full details of what documentation needs to be put in place ahead of the sales.
Castlebridge will examine the pedigree proof of your sale horse to identify any errors and to see if any improvements to the pedigree page can be made.
You will be advised of delivery day and time for your horse which will be met by Castlebridge staff at the horsebox area.
Each horse is presented to their full advantage in our usual excellent stabling location.
A team of top class experienced sales staff are constantly in attendance throughout the day.
Potential buyers are drawn to the draft as a whole and if your horse suits a potential buyer, we can often add your horse to the buyer’s inspection list.
We provide constantly updated inspection lists to our vendors throughout the showing days on request and end of day showing totals.
The ability to operate a hospitality box at the sales barn which acts as a meeting place popular with buyers and vendors alike. A hospitality box would be uneconomical for a vendor selling just a small number of horses.
Selling a sizeable draft of horses at each sale enables us to gauge the strength of the market on a day to day basis and give vendors the most informed advice on the setting of reserves.
Having been leading consignors for many years, we know most purchasers on a personal basis and they will often seek guidance and reassurance on a horse, either at the showing barn or just prior to it going through the ring.
If a horse fails to meet its reserve, the Directors of Castlebridge will often be able to broker a private sale.
The overall presentation of the consignment, with the high turn-out standard of both horses and staff, and a recognised identity led by the famous red and green stripes along the stabling.
